This mounted 90mm Crusader Knight sculpted by Victor Konnov and cast by Romeo models, represents a Templar knight as he would have appeared during the Crusades. The figure posed a bit of a challenge with its overall white finish, but proved rewarding.
One of the challenges was having to paint the horse itself before starting on the caparison. I spent a lot of time masking underneath, but well worth it in the end. The white portions were air brushed and hand painted in Vallejo acrylics.
Templates for the heraldry were made from images downloaded from the internet and re-sized. The masks were then temporarily glued in place, air brushed and treated with highlights and shading / weathering etc.
